Let me be real with you for a second. I tried everything before I switched to sugaring hair removal.
Before I became a sugaring specialist, I was just a girl with sensitive skin who had tried everything, and I mean everything, to get smooth skin without paying for it with pain, irritation, or bruising. I didn't come to sugaring because it was trendy. I came to it because nothing else worked for my body. And now I help clients in Long Beach and surrounding areas find that same relief every single week.

Shaving Was Never Really an Option for Me
Most people start here and some people are totally fine with it. I was not one of those people.
I have a nickel allergy. And if you didn't know, a lot of razors, especially the multi-blade ones, contain nickel in the cartridge. For me, shaving meant instant irritation, redness, and a reaction that went way beyond normal razor burn. My skin was basically rejecting the tool before I even finished using it.
I tried every razor brand I could find. Different handles, different blades, different shaving creams. Nothing changed the fundamental problem: I spent days after shaving itching, inflamed, red raw skin.
Until I accepted that my skin and metal razors do not get along.
So I moved on.
Waxing Left Me Bruised for Almost 10 Years
This is the one that really got me.
I waxed for years, almost a decade, and honestly believed that bruising and irritation were just part of the deal. I believed that this was what hair removal felt like and I just had to push through it.
I didn't know any better. And it was better than shaving.
Here's what I know now: wax adheres to everything. Your hair, yes, but also your skin. The live layers of your skin. So when that strip comes off, it's not just removing hair, it's essentially pulling at your skin too. For someone with sensitive skin like mine, that meant bruising. Consistent, recurring bruising that I just accepted as normal.
And the ingrowns. Oh, the ingrowns. Between the removal process and the products themselves, many waxes contain resins and ingredients that my skin reacted to, I was constantly dealing with bumps and ingrowns that led to hyperpigmentation that made me feel like I'd never win.
I spent years in that cycle before I finally asked myself: why am I doing this to my body?
Laser Hair Removal Sounded Like the Dream
Permanent hair removal? Sign me up.
I invested in laser treatments thinking this was finally the answer. And for a while, results were promising. But laser is a significant financial commitment, we're talking thousands of dollars over 6-9 sessions and what nobody really emphasizes upfront is that for many people, it's not permanent. It's long-term reduction.
Nine months after my treatments, my hair came back.
Nine months.
I would have had to keep going, keep spending, indefinitely, to maintain results. For me personally, the cost and the commitment made it unsustainable as a long-term solution. I wasn't willing to sign up for a lifetime of laser appointments.
So I kept looking.
Then I Found Sugaring and Everything Changed
Sugaring uses a paste made from three ingredients: sugar, lemon, and water. That's it. Nothing synthetic. Nothing my sensitive skin has to fight against.
But the part that changed everything for me was learning how sugaring removes hair differently than wax.
Sugar paste only adheres to the hair and dead skin cells not the live layers of your skin. Which means when it's removed, with the direction of hair growth, it's taking the hair with it from the root, and not ripping at your skin. For someone who had bruised consistently from waxing for nearly ten years, the difference was immediately noticeable.
No bruising. Less irritation. And over time, as the hair grows back finer and sparser, the results just keep getting better.
I didn't just find a hair removal method. I found the one that actually works with my body instead of against it. And that's when I knew I wanted to help other people find the same thing.
