If your T-zone gets oily but your cheeks feel dry, or your skin seems to shift from one area to the next, you’re likely dealing with combination skin. It’s one of the most common skin types, and also one of the most misunderstood.
This routine helps you care for both sides of your skin — the oily and the dry — without having to choose one over the other.
What Combination Skin Needs
Combination skin isn’t just oily and dry. It’s skin with different needs in different areas. That could mean oil and congestion in the center of your face, with dryness or sensitivity around the edges.
Instead of using one-size-fits-all products, the key is balance. You want formulas that hydrate where needed, support your barrier, and help regulate oil in areas that get too shiny.

Your Routine
Cleanser (AM and PM)
Use a gentle gel or low-foam cleanser that refreshes your skin without leaving dry areas tight or oily areas greasy.
Treatment (as needed)
Target your oily zones with ingredients like salicylic acid or niacinamide. For dry or sensitive areas, keep it light with hydrating or calming serums.
Moisturizer (AM and PM)
Use a lightweight lotion or gel-cream across the face, and layer a richer product only where your skin needs more support.
Sunscreen (AM only)
Choose a breathable SPF 30 or higher with a balanced finish that doesn’t add shine or dry you out.
Let It Work For You
Combination skin doesn’t need complicated layering or two separate routines. It just needs flexible care that honors both sides of what your skin needs.
