If your skin reacts easily, stings when you try new products, or gets red and uncomfortable without warning, you may have sensitive skin. And while it can be frustrating, the right routine can make a huge difference.

The goal is to support your barrier, avoid unnecessary triggers, and give your skin space to settle.

What Sensitive Skin Needs

Sensitive skin doesn’t need more — it needs less. Fewer steps, fewer ingredients, and more intention. Your skin is likely telling you it needs calm, consistency, and gentle protection.

Focus on products that soothe, hydrate, and rebuild your skin’s natural defenses.

Your Routine

  1. Cleanser (AM and PM)

Use a gentle, non-foaming cleanser with no added fragrance. Look for creamy textures or formulas made specifically for sensitive or reactive skin.

  2. Treatment (as needed)

Stick to calming ingredients like centella asiatica, panthenol, azelaic acid, or oat extract. Introduce one product at a time and patch test first.

  3. Moisturizer (AM and PM)

Choose a minimal-ingredient cream with barrier-repair ingredients like ceramides, squalane, or colloidal oatmeal. Avoid actives or highly fragranced formulas.

  4. Sunscreen (AM only)

Use a mineral SPF 30 or higher with zinc oxide and calming ingredients. Choose formulas without fragrance or alcohol.

Keep It Simple and Steady

With sensitive skin, how you use products matters just as much as what you use. Build slowly. Give each step time to settle. And if your routine feels like too much, it's okay to pull back.
